Grooming your pet is an important part of their health, hygiene, and overall well-being. It makes your pet look better, and it makes them feel better. A routine grooming also allows you to examine your pet’s coat, health, eyes, ears, nails and overall health.

Flea and Tick BathsFleas are small parasites that take blood from unsuspecting animals. Fleas don’t have wings, but their back legs pack enough power to easily jump onto a dog. After they’ve settled into a safe, cozy spot on their host animal, fleas feed themselves by chomping down and sucking their host’s blood, leaving itchy bites behind as souvenirs. Fleas also multiply rapidly, laying up to 30 eggs a day, which eventually turns into more fleas. Once your dog is infested, the fleas can hop off and set up housekeeping in your carpet or furniture, on your other pets and even on you. Bathing is the beginning point to rid your pet of fleas. Wash off the droppings of the female fleas to get rid of the food that the larvae need to feed on to grow.

Happy Pet, Happy HeartGoing to the grooming shop is a very stimulating experience for a dog. They get social stimulation from being around other dogs and people that they have come to see as good friends. For many singleton pets, this is the only time they will be around other dogs and even if they are allowed no direct contact they still feel a great sense of camaraderie. Plus the physical stimulation from the handling and massage-like feelings they get from their bath. Brushing increases blood flow to the skin which feels very good. Once they know the routine and how to behave they feel very confident and happy at being told how good they are over and over during the process.

KennelAs a loving pet owner, we know you want to keep your dog clean. And, for many breeds, that means regular grooming sessions.
But what happens at the end of that grooming session? At Lola’s Pawlon we like to ensure your dog’s safety through the use of kennels. A kennel can give dogs a sense of security. Kennels are a place dogs can go and not be bothered and it's a perfect destination when the dog is tired or nervous. Dogs have a natural instinct to be in a den and many dogs take to a crate very easily. Kennels also prevent a dog or pup from getting into any trouble. |
